Although Sofi Galanis is the Director of Wattle Hill Kindergarten, she see’s herself as more of an educator and as a friend to the children.
Sofi is highly motivated, dedicated and experienced. She holds a Bachelor of Early Childhood Studies from Melbourne University and has worked in this field for over 10 years, bringing to our kindergarten a wide range of skills and interests. She is fluent in two languages, English and Greek.
Sofi has created a quality program to cater for the individual needs and the group as a whole. Working with Connie Mills as a team for 7 years, they are both very caring, culturally aware and sensitive to the diverse range of needs, cultures and families.
Congratulations must go to Sofi who won a 2008 Inspirational Teacher Award in the National Excellence In Teaching Awards.
These awards are Australia wide and Sofi competed against thousands of others to be one of only two Early Childhood Educators in Victoria to receive this award. Sofi was nominated by the 2008 President on behalf of the Parent Committee of Management.
It is a credit to Sofi's ability as teacher and her passion for teaching and we, the Kindergarten Community, are so proud of her for achieving it. You can view details of Sofi's application and information about NEiTA at: www.neita.com
